Brief Expedition objectives:

List a short summary of the main Expedition objectives.

(i) Continuation of the exploration and survey of the most promising caves found in 2011: PB25, Eye Spider Pot, Slug Pot, and Arch Cave.
(ii) Investigate some surface springs.
(iii) Continue to explore the surrounding area.
How can the GPF support your Expedition?:

Please explain the aspects of the trip which make it eligible for Ghar Parau funding.

The expedition will once more invite members of SOB to join us, and to try to involve local cavers in Kotor and Herceg Novi, Montenegro. In previous years they have proved invaluable in helping us communicate with local inhabitants.
Detailed description of objectives:

Give a more detailed account of the purpose of the trip, including any particular known caves you intend to visit, specific areas where you will explore for new cave, and scientific experiments you will attempt.

The cave PB25 was re-discovered in 2011. It is reported to contain lakes and cascades. As the only other cave found in the area so far with an active stream it shows the best potential for reaching the postulated master cave. Eye Spider Pot is an open shaft with a stone fall time of more than 10 seconds. Slug Pot ended in an impassable constriction at the top of another shaft, so we plan to open this up.
Most of the resurgences in the area are deep upwellings. Few of the surface springs shown on the maps have been systematically examined, so we plan to do just this. The area continues to reveal many caves and pots. We will continue to extend the area of exploration.
Previous work in this area:

Give details of any previous work in this area by your own and other teams. Include references to reports and articles published on the area, and the names of any local cavers or academics with whom you have discussed the Expedition.
