Brief Expedition objectives:

List a short summary of the main Expedition objectives.

To further explore and push Tham Pha Pheung that we visited during our 2010 expedition, the cave is currently the deepest cave in Thailand and it is hoped that we will be able to further explore deeper into the mountain. The team will also be tying up loose ends elsewhere in the cave. Also we will be exploring all other known leads in the area that were noted during our previous visit and to continue looking for other caves. There is reported to be another very big cave in the area which we failed to find last time, we will continue that search this time.
How can the GPF support your Expedition?:

Please explain the aspects of the trip which make it eligible for Ghar Parau funding.

The first and main reason for the expedition is to carry on where we left off with regard to exploring and pushing the deepest cave in Thailand. The support would be gratefully received and put towards more rope that will be needed and also the rescue equipment that we will need to take as there will not be any rescue persons or equipment out there available to us.
Detailed description of objectives:

Give a more detailed account of the purpose of the trip, including any particular known caves you intend to visit, specific areas where you will explore for new cave, and scientific experiments you will attempt.

Main goals will be exploration, surveying of all new finds and tying up all other surveys that need completing from previous visits. We will also do allot of photography so we have a full photographic history and account of our expedition for later presentations and write ups that we will publish. On a non caving note we will also be carrying on our good relations work with the people in this very remote and poor area of Thailand. Should think we will boost their economy for a week or so!!
Previous work in this area:

Give details of any previous work in this area by your own and other teams. Include references to reports and articles published on the area, and the names of any local cavers or academics with whom you have discussed the Expedition.

The SMCC have had two previous visits to this area in 2009 and 2010
