Brief Expedition objectives:

List a short summary of the main Expedition objectives.

While in the Field we plan to educate & teach the local guides & park Wardens about the Importance of cave conservation because as more Jungle is cleared for agriculture & more caves appear it’s very important to teach the locals about cave conservation & show them how to protect any formations that they find
How can the GPF support your Expedition?:

Please explain the aspects of the trip which make it eligible for Ghar Parau funding.

The Project deserves special Merit as we also plan to carry out Hydrology Tests in the area, so that sources of Fresh drinking water are available to these people in the future, we also aim to teach the local Sherpa guides about caving safely, as these sherpas act as Tour Guides for local companies, so they can help to make sure that the caves are protected in the future by passing on their knowledge to other local guides.
Detailed description of objectives:

Give a more detailed account of the purpose of the trip, including any particular known caves you intend to visit, specific areas where you will explore for new cave, and scientific experiments you will attempt.

To locate, dive, Explore, photograph, survey, & tape as many previously unexplored cave systems as possible within the Perlis region of Northern Malaysia, an area that is known to contain caves, but very little cave exploration has taken place there, thus the full caving potential is unknown.
Previous work in this area:

Give details of any previous work in this area by your own and other teams. Include references to reports and articles published on the area, and the names of any local cavers or academics with whom you have discussed the Expedition.

I visited the area in 2008 on Holiday, but soon realised how much caving potential there was, so I hired local guides & they showed me several new caves in the jungle, we explored these caves to pitches & sumps. We now plan to explore & document these caves beyond the current limit in 2010.
